Neusteter’s long velvet duster / coat /jacket with gold piping

Neusteter's vintage (ca 1940s or 1950s) black velvet duster / jacket with red satin lining, gold piping on the collar and pockets, and sequins. Perfect lightweight, elegant duster for a night on the town or a holiday party. Has shoulder pads, similar to what was popular in the late 40s to early 50s. Note that this jacket is not insulated. It is velvet with a satin lining. That's it. So it will not be good as an outerwear coat in very cold weather. It is more of a lightweight, party frock during Autumn or Spring. Approximate modern size would be a women's US 6 to 8. Please pay attention to these measurements, below. Measurements (laid flat): Armpit: 16" across Waist: 16" across Bottom: 29" across (flares out at bottom) Shoulders: 17" across Sleeves: 22" long Total length from shoulder to bottom of coat: 49 inches Condition: there is a small moth hole on one pocket that could easily be repaired. I have not done that because I did not want to mess it up (I am a disaster with needle and thread). Also two small wear spots on the velvet (on front of shoulders). These have not warn through the fabric, just the nap of the velvet. Otherwise this duster / jacket is in beautiful condition. Neusteter's was a well-known, high end department store in Denver, Colorado and was once considered to be one of the leading women’s wear retailers in the US outside of New York. Their original store opened in 1895 and was located at 720 16th Street in the heart of Denver’s shopping district.
