Elegant little black dress with a jagged edge. From circa the early to mid-Fifties. Rayon crepe with a good weight. An almost Dolman-style sleeve with underarm gusset for movement. Sleeves are three-quarter length with a little cuff. "V" neckline front and back with little snaps / string at the shoulders to keep your undergarments in place. Edge detail on the two diagonal front pockets. Fitted bodice with front and back waist darts and bust darts in front. Straight skirt with center seam and front pleats and back waist darts. Straight hem. Center back zipper closure with hook and eye at the top. Unlined. In good, wearable vintage condition with the center back possibly having been let out a bit and the original zipper replaced at some point during the life of the dress. Exclusive style manufactured by Nettie Rosenstein for I. Magnin & Co. Most likely made in New York, U.S.A., where she had her atelier. A very sharp and lady-like dress that means business!
