duchessida My great-great aunt had an antique version of this by her chair in her parlor. When we visited the girls and their mothers would be expected to have some needlework with them: crochet, embroidery, knitting or hand sewing. Another great aunt(possibly her daughter) had a quilting circle. Everything was hand sewn. She also had a biscuit "jar" for tea time. This brings back such great memories.
