The Necrophone is a spooky contraption built for communicating with the dead, perfect for Halloween don't you think? Based on the artwork by Myles Pinkney, who is known for his rich and detailed sci-fi works, it features a skull under a glass dome with a pair of electrical probes sticking out, surrounded by a conductive metal ring, all the inner-workings are housed inside. A mouthpiece for talking hovers above the skull and an earpiece sits in its holder on the side of the machine. This 8 inch high, 6 inch long, 5.25 inch wide piece is creatively cast in resin and comes to life in a hand painted finish in red, metallic gold and brown with a verdigris patina to make it look old. How does the machine work? We may never know as Its mysteries are hidden deep inside.
