Necklace and Earrings Set Marked “Japan”

I believe these are enameled and hand painted, but not sure of the authenticity. Clasp is marked “Japan”. Beautiful dark blue beads with gold tone bead separations. The larger beads are painted with blue, yellow and red stylized shapes. Unusual. I have never worn this set, just found them in my jewelry collection. I believe I purchased them in an upscale resale shop in Augusta, Ga. Necklace is approximately 9” long and the earrings 1.75” ling by 1.5” wide.
