Natural Turquoise Nodule (3.6 lbs)

A natural and solid piece of turquoise presumably from the Royston mining district of Nevada, given its color and appearance. It looks to have only been polished with no dyes or stabilizers used. Beautiful fairy green color with spider webs all throughout, in some places it is a darker blue-green algae color, and in some areas it is a lighter hue of sky greenish-blue. This is a wonderful specimen for the mineral collector or the lapidary artist or jeweler that can make numerous high grade cabochons from this solid piece of turquoise. My Native American friend who is a silversmith and his family makes turquoise jewelry indicated that this is high grade turquoise. He also said it should be kept in tact as nodules like this are extremely rare these days, and that this is likely very old material. It measures roughly 4.5" x 4.5" x 5" and weighs 3.6 lbs.
