Native American Sterling Silver Bolo Tie Hopi. This bolo belonged to the husband of my 96 year old friend. He bought it in the 1980's during the height of bolo wear in NM. The couple moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1950 and were very familiar with quality Native American jewelry. There is no mark to indicate that it is sterling silver; therefore, I took it to a jeweler to verify, and it is sterling silver. The artist stamp, or signature, is on the back at the bottom middle edge. The sterling silver tips are each 2" inches long with a 1/4" wide sterling ball at the end of each tip. The Concho style (oval) bolo measures 3" long and 2 1/8" wide and is secured to a black leather rope. The length of the piece is 22"; from the neck to the end of the tips. Lovely workmanship from a member of the Hopi tribe in NM.
