Beautiful, unique vintage Native American Sterling "Kingman" Turquoise Earrings by E.K., 7/8"H x 1/2"W. Wt.- 7 grams. Turquoise cabouchon oval stone atop two cabouchon teardrop shaped turquoise stones at base, forming a lovely triangle effect. The spaces between on the face are oxidized silver, nicely offsetting the stones. The earrings were sold to me as Kingman Turquoise, but they could be from a different mine. The robin's egg blue of the turquoise contrasts nicely with the golds in the turquoise. Please see the last photo. Under 30x magnification, there appears to be a few very fine hairlines on the surface of one stone bottom right. I do not know if these were naturally occuring in the stone, but do not appear to effect the stone or its looks.
Stamped on one earring on reverse, an offset E K partially visible Sterling. Post backs stamped 925. There are two Native American artists who use the initials EK. I think the offset E K followed underneath by Sterling matches the known marks for Elliot Koinva, Hopi. There are very few examples of his work for sale or for comparison. The other possibility is Elmer Kee, Navajo. I've included a link to a resource if you want to check. https://www.art-amerindien.com/hallmarks/e-indian-native-american-jewelry-marks.htm
Please review the photos as they are a part of the description of these earrings. Please let me know if you have any questions.
