From our personal collection, we offer this beautiful crafted brooch that is a true vintage soon to be antique piece of jewelry from the 1930s-1940s. The brooch is hallmarked with UITA2 corresponding with C. G Wallace of United Indian Traders Association during the Fred Harvey Era and features a round, natural turquoise stone bezel set in fine silver. The stone is a stunning silver with copper color and has a unique shape that adds to the overall beauty of the brooch. The brooch is 2.25 inches in size 18.6g and has a unisex design that can be worn by anyone. This brooch is made likely 900 fine coin silver that was hand hammered, cut, and stylized by the artisan whom created 6 beautiful copper leaves and integrated into the design. The clasp is gold color and there are additional etchings, signature or catalog numbers etched on the reverse face. United Indian Traders Association or UITA was founded in 1931 by CG Wallace to authenticate Native American arts and crafts. Artists and dealers associated with UITA include Gallup Mercantile Group, CG Wallace, Bert Staples, Fred Harvey Company, Don Smouse Borrego Pass Trading, Frak and Al Packard out of Sante Fe, NM, Hubbel at Ganado and Orabi, Cousins Brothers in Pine Springs, Julias Gas Southwest Arts and Crafts in Sante Fe, NM, Toadalena and Hubbell at Winslow.
