Extra part of strap can be inserted into the hole with the metal around it. Cap is dark green more of a forest green and has a tan brim. Surrounding the hat are various wild birds and animals many go hunting for. This is a nice hunting cap. I see Elk, Ram, Pheasant, Moose and Bear. The top circle and the air circles are also tan.
