@tee_six Hello, thanks for looking at my closet! They may be a medium as they are a standard size but defiantly not a wide width. On the manufactures web site the shoe chart indicates a 9 would be 10 inches. But I have added a couple of pictures with a tape measure for your reference- although it will not be perfect as the shoe does not lie flat like clothes it will give you some idea. I am sorry but I can not answer the question about rubbing as they are new I have never worn them. Take Care
