NWOT- This vintage silk slit skirt suit from J. Peterman is super sleek and perfect for date night or a holiday party.
The jacket is a single button closure with a generous lapel, creating a sexy deep-v tuxedo style silhouette . The skirt is about 33" long with an awesome 17" slit on the left side. The sheen of the silk and the color which is a deep, muted red add to the subtle/sexy vibe of this suit. In perfect shape- just a few wrinkles from being stored

@stokrocz Hi! Here are the jacket measurements 18"bust laying flat 16" waist 21"long and the skirts measurements are 14" laying flat 19" hips 32.5" long. Hope this helps 🙂

@1south darn i think the hip is just a hair too tight, and I know the waist is, for sure. What a shame, this would have been perfect. Do you think a tailor could adjust the waist out at all?

@stokrocz So what I'm seeing is there's about 1/2" tops of usable seam on each side. Also, there's a loop and button closure at the waist and it looks like the button could be moved over so that worse case scenario you could leave the waist open just a tad and the button will hold the skirt. My sister is the seamstress in our family and I'm seeing her tomorrow. I'll have her weigh in and I'll get back to you with a definite. It's an amazing suit 😍

There is just enough in the seam to let the waist out a little more than a half an inch. But there are also some darts that may be used to get some extra space. I can post pictures of the areas if you would like to see or maybe show them to your tailor if your interested. If not, thanks very much for stopping by and checking out my closet 🙂

@1south hey there I'm trying to understand measurements when you say 16" do you mean waist is 16" lying flat & about 32" around or smaller than that? I'm a sz6 generally but my waist/hips def isn't an hourglass - am more straight waisted like a dude (ha) so just checking-- this is really cute -cheers TJ

@tjaugust Hi! Yes the measurements are laying flat so double the bust and waist for the all around measurements 🙂. The measurements above are- jacket is 18” across the bust, 16” across the Waist and is 21” long. The skirt is 14” flat across the waist, 19” across the hips and is 32” long. This suit rocks- I bought it back in the day (late 90s I believe). I never wore it but it was too awesome to give away 😍
