Welcome to How to spot fake pit vipers. Pit Vipers are all the rage, mostly sold out on the website with scammers alive and well looking to make a slimey buck. I bought my Pit Gobby Originals directly from Pit Viper and found some noticeable differences between the pair I bought from the site and a pair I picked up on Merc. Do your homework, be diligent to look for details—unless, you like paying over full price for fakes (like me apparently). If you know other ways to spot fakes post below!

mamalu1982 To add to your list of fake details: the fake pair are flimsy, light weight and will float. Real pits will not float! Real ones are sturdy and just feel good. It feels like if you drop them on the ground nothing will happen to them. I have tried on several other real pairs ( friends have them) and the feel and fit real vs fake ones are not the same. At least that what I noticed.

shebee08 @swalund it took about a month before a pair popped up and I haven’t seen another real pair since. Overwhelming Majority are fake. Sometimes you can find other styles on here, mrC and the bay but many of those are too. They’ll restock on site in October/November and that’s your best bet.
