THE CENTER STONE IS 5mm WITH 5 APPOXIMATELY 2 mm GREEN CHROME DIOPSIDE ON EACH SIDE. Alexandrite displays a unique color-changing property, appearing bluish-green in daylight or fluorescent light and transforming to a purplish-red or brownish-red in incandescent light. This color shift is often described as "emerald by day, ruby by night" by several gemological sources.
