Hopefully it doesn’t turn into anything dangerous 🤞 My husband & I are going to need to fix some shingles on the roof that got blown off by the last storm before the rain starts . Tomorrow’s project!

tracigonzalez Thank you! Shared back the same. Yes- we got the roof fixed and prepared the yard for a storm. I think we are ready. Do you have or have you ever had chickens? One showed up in my backyard a few months ago and never left . We built her a coop and bought her chicken feed etc. she’s very happy here.

tracigonzalez I need to figure out what to do for her in the event when get a hurricane this season. Im thinking I'll put her and her little coop in the garage with the cats. They are all friends and get along well.

dafox @tracigonzalez Yes, I had bunches of chickens in the past and my sister has some now. You can move her little coop in the garage, just be mindful of how hot it gets in there. Watch for panting. You can also freeze fruit in water in a plastic container so she can peck at it. Mine also loved watermelon. I just gave what was left on the refrigerated rind after eating it, not bunches of sweet fruit.

dafox @tracigonzalez just shared for today, sorry I’m running late! Glad your chicken enjoyed the watermelon. If you don’t have grit, that’s important to have. It’s just tiny pieces of rock really, but it helps them to digest their food in their crops. It helps to break up the grasses and things.

dafox @tracigonzalez It tumbles around in the crop, which helps break down food. Anyway you just put a little bit of that in a dish, separate from their food and they will eat some as needed. If she is laying, some free fed oyster shell is good too. 🐓

tracigonzalez @dafox we are getting a lot of rain. It’s very tropical rain. On and off light and heavy rain all day and night. No major flooding yet because we had only had 6 inches of rain this year so it’s soaking in really well. And since it’s on and off there is time for some run off and absorption. Hopefully it will pass before we get too saturated. Going to share back now . Thank you !

tracigonzalez Thank you for the shares! Shared back. The chicken did very well during the rain. She camped out in her coop most of the time. I named her Hensley. She’s a brown chicken and lays brown eggs. She’s been fun! I bought her a big pan I fill with water. When she gets hot she soaks her feet and cools off.. lol 🐓

I incubated a bunch of eggs and only had one chick hatch, so I named her Uno. 😊 Captain Jack Sparrow was my Silkie Rooster’s name, thanks to my nephew. The list goes on. dafox @tracigonzalez Sorry to be MIA. I had a Japanese Beetle fly down my ear when I was gardening. I didn’t know what kind of bug it was at the time, only that it was clawing at me and was down by my eardrum. It was awful!

dafox @tracigonzalez This kind of beetle can actually eat into your eardrum so I was so thankful to get it out. My ear is still sore, but otherwise ok. I just got a headache too, for some reason. I started to get on some and thought I got some shares in, but I didn’t comment so I must not have. 🤦‍♀️ I didn’t feel good last night. I shared extra tonight. So sorry! Thanks for all your shares!

And it looks like that hurricane 🌀 is going to be coming right at us. I see a few days of storm prep for me over the weekend if the track stays as predicted . My mom is out of state for the summer so I’ll also need to go and do some prep at her house. I hope you’re getting some rest ❤️

tracigonzalez Oh.. and we also had a shark attack today at South Padre Island. Four people were bitten. Two very severe. It appears it was one shark that bit all 4. Lots of drama going on around here today.

I hope your chickens and kittens did OK through the fireworks. If the chicken is roosting in the coop she is likely to stay there. I always locked mine in every night anyway, so they always did OK. I’m concerned about that hurricane! Praying for you all!

tracigonzalez thank you so very much!♥️ I’m glad y’all made it thru the night with no major issues. We all survived the fireworks too. The chicken did well. She seems pretty resilient. It looks like we are getting lucky as of now. The hurricane 🌀 is now predicted to go in north of us around Corpus Christi or Houston. Fingers crossed 🤞 this one misses us . The shark victims are all recovering. Thankfully !! It has been 60 years since we had a shark attack at south padre.

tracigonzalez Thank you! Shared back. Sorry I’m sharing so extra late tonight. I had a kitten get stuck between the foundation of the house and the new deck my husband and I recently built. We heard him crying late tonight and we had to remove some boards 😩 to get the kitty out. Kitty is now safe but tomorrow we will need to repair the deck & it’s so dang hot 🥵. Never a dull moment. Wishing you a good night 💕

tracigonzalez Yay for your sales!! 🎊🎊🎊Shared in the kids party & with followers. We drove the cat to a 24 hr vet 30 miles from home. He was bleeding terribly from his mouth. It just came out of no where & started around midnight. Turns out he had an ulcer on the roof of his mouth and a cut on his tongue. I have no idea why but he seems to be recovering as expected. Thank goodness !! 😻

dafox @tracigonzalez Oh how awful about the ulcer and cut, but so glad for the recovery news! I pray it heals quickly now that you know it’s there abs was the cause of the bleeding. I’m sure it was very scary. Thanks for sharing. I’m going to go share now.

tracigonzalez Thank you! Shared back . Kitty seems to be healed. Dr said only wet food for 2 weeks. No dry food. He is eating ,drinking & sleeping like normal so I think he’s healing nicely . Thank goodness! 😅
