mmadonna40 @beachpeace That one tip has to do with Poshmark algorithms. It's uncertain whether it holds true or not. However, In my own personal trials I found that if I mark my NFS items as "for sale" for a few days and then mark them back to NFS. It somehow seems to create more sales! mmadonna40 @alwaysposhible I don’t do studio lighting. Actually I don’t use any lighting at all. I’m fortunate that I live in Southern California and it’s sunny most of the time. I’ll either shoot outside in the same place where I know the lighting at certain times of the day. Or I’ll find a south facing window in my house and use natural light.

Mix equal parts: Blue Dawn Dish Soap Hydrogen Peroxide Baking Soda Mix 1 tablespoon of each, that will be enough for several items. Use a spoon to scoop a bit of stain remover onto the stain. All my packages contain pretty patterned tissue paper, free gifts for bigger purchases, and recently instead of a thank you card I have added a branded postcard from me asking for written feedback. Only two or three have been sent out with shipments so far and no response yet.

jewelska I’ve been told mentioning the top selling brands on profiles or stuffing descriptions with them can help people find you, but I think why lead a customer to something they don’t want. I know it annoys me when search results are off. So I only list what I have in my closet on my profile and keep my listing clean and on brand. What do you think about this strategy? Is it worth it?

jewelska @mmadonna40 I should have provided more detail. For example someone puts Free People or other popular brand names in the description of a non Free People item just so their listing comes up in a search for that and as a way to get more exposure or eyes on their stuff.

mmadonna40 @alwaysposhible Removing"LIKES"? That's up to you really. I like so many things (I shop Poshmark a lot!) It would be too time consuming🤣 But yes probably a good idea to stay organized! Though once purchased a listing cannot be edited. So you would never get another notification. Personally I leave my likes in case I decide to reposh the item/s. But you can also look at your purchase history it just takes much longer if you shop a lot. Did you know you can actually search your Likes? 😊

I do go back to closets I've purchased from & can depend on for clean, quality items. For instance I cannot stand receiving items that smell of parfume, smoke, someone else's home, etc. To avoid sending out items with a smell I will "air out" everything before listing! Did I do the "How to remove odors post yet?"

jscatalog @mmadonna40 you’re right on! But all the cases that I lost to the buyer’s, Poshmark evaluated the case based on size, fit, etc. I make an effort to write an elaborate description, along with measurements and pictures supporting my description. I even circle flaws etc.

So now I have a 4.9 rating because of people who decided that I should be able to telepathically know their precise body measurements and hold me responsible if they lost or gained weight lol. I had one that gave me 4⭐️ when I did everything right- perfect communication, nice packaging, a ty note, great pics, accurate description, all measurements. I dropped her a note asking her what her reason was for the 4⭐️ rating(additionally stating that I strive for excellent customer feedback)and what could I have done to make it 5⭐️ for her-she never responded-🙃

jscatalog @aprilny1963 So I find it very unfair when Poshmark stands with a buyer that said “I don’t like this item” or the best one I got so far was “This seller is a fraud. This is not the same dress listed. It’s made by her or a friend.” 😱🙄 Or when they damage the item to claim they received it this way. But at least it’s not as horrific as eBay. I had to close my store because one sale cost me $2000 in damages.

mmadonna40 @vickysecretpink Cedar only works when it's fresh. So you have to sand it all the time to let out the cedar oil. And it only works in small spaces like a chest. You can do your entire closet in cedar paneling and it won't help after the sap/oil dries...

I have them hanging every couple feet on the bars in my closet. And one on each of my drawers. Smells great too! 💜😊💜

jewelska @jscatalog I'm at 4.8 because a buyer was mad the quartz jewelry she received wasn't pink enough. I kindly asked her if she could update her review & educated her on the fact that natural quartz comes in very pale pink and fake is dyed. I tagged her on a few other quartz listings so she could see my pics were accurate. She became very nasty so I blocked her. I also hate when I see people post that chart of offer percentages and I won’t share items from their closet or follow them if I see that. When I first joined PM, it was as a buyer & I found it because of an IG ad promoting used & discounted makeup. I had no idea in the beginning abt seller fees etc. I thought I was coming to a site to buy makeup for 50% off like the ad said! I get super bummed when someone stops countering without a comment because usually I’m willing to meet in the middle. My first counter is never my lowest! But as a buyer I am afraid to make offers bc people threaten to block you & I don’t know what they consider “reasonable.” Also, I want disc shipping. Because I literally have free 1 day shipping on Amazon prime 😂

mmadonna40 @jenniferg_213 So we had to take our dog to the ER today. She injured herself really badly 3.5 weeks ago. She’s had x-rays & we’ve been to 4 different vets already. She's getting worse & stopped eating. We suspect she did damage to soft tissue like tore a ligament or hurt her spine & pinched a nerve. She got caught up in a electrical cord. It takes forever to get into a specialist but we have appointments w/an Orthopedic vet 2mrw & Neurologist Thu. Finally!

I skip closets that don't have a bundle discount (or a buy 4+ items for a discount). A bookmark listing helps my foggy brain. brijej @mmadonna40 question on this. I sold an item that clearly stated it had a small stain on it, I tried cleanibg that out and had no success. Wrap in colorful tissue paper, gift bag, spooky mailer & thank you card. Lately I've been getting ratings which I'm thrilled about! Love notes are another thing. I found out if you just make a small edit to any item it goes right to top so I do that to each item until they are in the order I want. A lot of Poshers will leave too many items marked not available throughout their closet. When shopping these closets it's difficult to see what's actually available. Using the filter for "available" items will NOT sort out these UNAVAILABLE listings unless they are marked NFS "not for sale."

designingdeb @jewelska I always try to talk to buyers to establish a personal connection. I ask what they like to see if I have anything they might like that I haven’t listed. My items are sent inside protective bags with a Thank you! note ... nothing super exciting yet I seldom DON’T get a love note. I do super share their items. I try to do it frequently at least for a bit. They do the same. We become friends.

Super sharing their closet and we do that back and forth usually for a week and chat. Share ideas. Just love each other in a genuine way. It’s hard not to write a note or give 5 stars. Those efforts take a couple of minutes. But we both remember. I like the connection.

designingdeb Last thought. Think about what you want when you receive your purchase: show me the goods! That’s where I’m impressed. Clothing that smells good, things that met my measurements so fit. It is as described. No wrapping or note overcomes delivering the truth. Plus think about your carbon footprint. We have 1 bags of trash maybe a week. We recycle like crazy. But it bugs me when I see the paper etc and I read posts saying it’s not effective. It isn’t for me.

You will build this business one person at a time by touching them. Encourage them. Share your secret weapon. Look at their closet. Don’t let them struggle alone. I think good communication is key as well .If a buyer has a closet with items for sale I agree that following and sharing their items is a nice way to say thank you for purchasing. But often I have buyers who aren’t sellers. I still tag them to thank them and let them know when I have shipped their item. My items are wrapped in tissue paper and I personalize my cards with a message. I prefer to use USPS nieces when I can dine you can recycle them.

(Buyer not familiar with real stones vs dyed ones.) My descriptions are very detailed and pics have great lighting. Difficult buyers are out of my control. So just looking to bring my rating up is why I asked.

She ended up buying more! Actually I think when you sell jewelry you should be able to email etc. We really need to talk at times and not for bad reasons. Asking how can I solve this for you? Also, you have to package it super well as things do tend to come loose in shipping. It happened to a necklace I received so I gently let the seller know so they could package better for the next customer and I still gave them 5 stars. I hate to see anyone work so hard and they a negative review.

I spend so much time working with overseas vendors directly to get items that are real and high quality. They sell low quality vendors get the same pictures and produce junk.

But exciting! graceupongrace7 I'm a newbie so of course I have lots of questions as I'm getting deeper into this! When you say "share your closet 3x day", is there a way to share the whole thing at once? Also how is this different from when you say to "direct share" at least 10 items.

mmadonna40 @graceupongrace7 When you share your closet you can share either to your followers OR a party. If you do ENL (edit next list) your items will share to both your followers & the party. When sharing your items they move to the top. Keep that in mind if to keep your closet in order. It also helps to not share your sold & NFS items to leave them at the bottom. 💕😘
