smegathlin I recently bought a mystery box from someone else...I thought it was such a unique and novel idea. I belong to a great share group and am friends with a couple of the members and we all thought this was such a fun kind of post. I bit the bullet and bought one...a boho mystery box...tagged the seller with my recent boho purchases.

smegathlin Gave her my color preferences and all my sizes...and, to say the least...I was HUGELY DISAPPOINTED. I reposhed everything in the box. One of my friends purchased a mystery box from someone else. Since I have not seen this concept I wondered if you were who she bought it from. She has not received her mystery box yet.

smegathlin My box was like she went to Goodwill and just picked up any four items she could find. I asked for subtle colors and she gave me bold, vibrant, awful colors. I asked for boho and NOTHING was what would be considered boho. I may consider trying this again, but not with the seller I bought from. I think it is a cute idea for birthday presents, etc.

iheartwarhol Oh no that's awful that you weren't happy! And you gave her so much to go off of too ... I would think she couldn't go wrong right? I really loved the idea too that's why I figured I had to try it! Plus I have soooo much stuff ... Lol ! I need to make from for more! @smegathlin

smegathlin I even told her I am a senior citizen and petite...so I didn't want mini skirts and didn't want any skirts longer than 18 inches from waist to hem. She sent me the most awful colored skirt that was 24 inches long...6 inches longer than I told her I wanted. Now go figure that out!

smegathlin No...I didn't tell her. What difference would it make at that point in time...she had my money. I just reposed everything. She had a cute closet and I didn't want to upset her ratings. I simply didn't leave any comments in love notes. Once I sent someone a dress they had ordered...individually wrapped it in tissue paper, put a bow on it, added a thank you card, mailed it the very day they purchased it, the dress description was extremely detailed and accurate and she gave me 4 stars.

smegathlin I was upset because I don't know what else I could have done to earn 5 stars. I guess she didn't like the dress or it didn't fit, but that shouldn't reflect on my shipment. So I don't want to hurt anyone's ratings.

Also i need to know exactly how much you want to spend? You will get at least 2x the amount you pay for but i need to know how much you are wanting to spend? obviously if you spend more.. the likeliness is higher to get everyone you liked.

kaylaglazier @smegathlin my goodness I read some of your comments that is so odd I'd definitely recommend "chatting" with someone kinda like how you guys are here first before getting one.. Terrible! But I've found that some people don't have respect for the process and it is something that is gained over time. It SHOCKS me how many people don't READ. Info can not be changed once someone buys the listing so I like that aspect of proof..

piccicu @iheartwarhol I happened to stumble on this thread! I think your method of doing a mystery box is fantastic. I also have tried to sell boxes. I sold one jewelry box for $40. The lady got all NEW. QUALITYjewelry of all types and styles because she wanted to resell. My cost was very little below the 40 and the worth was about 4x worth. ENDof story... she didn’t think it was her style. Not happy. Found out it was a scam and Poshmark paid me. Crazy
