This is Lan Se Tien ("heavenly blue" in Mandarin, a Chinese dialect), or Lani for short, a seal point Siamese cat who passed away on July 23 at approximately 12:30 AM. (The time is only approximate because my boyfriend was so ripped up by her loss that he didn't return home until 2 AM.)
She was fabulous service cat and a wonderful friend. She wasn't trained as a service animal, she just naturally knew how best to help me.
May she rest peacefully eternally.

Thank you very much for your kind words. Things are exceedingly difficult just now. In fact.... I am uncertain if I should explain further...

@musecalliopeia I would be lost without my cat. I have Crohn's disease and depression, and she's always by my side.

@musecalliopeia You can explain further if you want. I won't judge you, I would probably understand more than you think.

@savmadison99 Lani contracted feline infectious anemia, a bloodborne disease that diminishes the number of red blood cells (RBCs) in a cat's cardiovascular system, or, in other cases, diminishes the ability of a cat's RBCs to carry oxygen. Her lab test results showed that her red blood cell count or her hemoglobin value (I am, at this time uncertain, as I don't quite recall), for which the value in a healthy cat is around 28 - 32, registered at a mere 9.

@musecalliopeia I'm so sorry, that must've been very hard to deal with.

@savmadison99 Thank you again. Your empathy means a lot. Life has become very difficult since her passing. Matt and I both blame ourselves - but not the other - for her loss. I miss her terribly.

She certainly was beautiful, inside and outside. I too lost a cat that was not trained to be a service animal, but she too knew my every mood, my every need. While I would not complain about the pain or situation - my husband often said, he could tell how I was feeling by the cats actions! I do not have Chrons' but I understand the disease due to a good friend having it. Bless you and sending prayers to you for your condition and your loss. June

@junebug416 Blessed be, Junie. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know that another babycat (I hope that you will be patient with my use of the words that I came up with and use(d) to express my adoration of all of my various furry, fuzzy, scaly, &c. children) will not, CAN not, erase the loss or the accompanying pain and grief of your feline who helped keep you feelin' if not exactly fine, then at least a little bit better.

@junebug416 But I am personally long past the point that I am deeply feeling the desire... and need... for some sweet one to enter my life again.

@junebug416 Neither do I suffer from Crohn's disease. My own (list of) disabilities now includes (but is not limited to): a veritable alphabet soup of varied psychological issues (like severe chronic MDD [major depressive disorder], OCD [obsessive compulsive disorder], GAD [generalized anxiety disorder], just to name a very few)...

@junebug416 Gah. I accidentally erased the rest of my comment. But the most important part of it all is that I have two good ears, and a shoulder that I have always been told is comfy and strong enough for anyone to lean on. If you ever want or need someone to talk with, I may not be on Posh at that moment, but my phone lets me know when I get a message. :)
