If you’re considering adding a pup (or any animal) to your family, I urge you to ADOPT not shop. There are so many unwanted, abandoned, & neglected animals that need a good home. You can also work with breed specific rescues. They’re just a Google away. I work with Pei People & The Big Mutt Network. You thrift your clothing so why not thrift your pets. 😆🤣😆 They deserve a second life too.❤️💖💝

karmalee321 good job!! I love The Pei's. I was the only person in my friends house 1 night, YEARS AGO, when the very pregnant mama proceeded to have her babies at midnight. I knew nothing at the time about birthing anything. my friend had promised me that wouldn't happen while he left town that weekend and asked me to " house sit" . it was a long night, was a BIG litter and thats how I got to know his mother and sister whom I had called in a panic. Lol. They bred all the colors. Love em!!!!!

adymolina Agreed 100% with you, all mi babies are been adopted or rescue from the street. If someone is looking for signatures to make PetShops ilegal, let me know... they are the root of the over population problem. County and Cities, and human No-killing Shelters are having hard times keeping up with the problem. Adoptions Help to Keep this babies Alive.

ginathegreek So glad to hear this! I knew I liked you for a reason. 😉 I am a HUGE animal advocate as well. I petition daily (email, online petitions), always adopt rescues, rescue, donate, and am even a vegetarian. I have been since '98 - before it was trendy lol. Not that I am complaining. If I had it my way, the entire world would be vegetarian! Lol. But I don't push my beliefs on others. I believe every life has a right to live. I even capture insects/spiders/bugs when they come indoors & set them free.

xoxoklowe @carolannmarkle You’re best bet is to do a google search for rescue organizations in your area. You can call them & let them know the breeds you’re interested in. They will contact you if they rescue any. Also call your local town/county shelters. They’ll tell you if they have any breeds that you like. All of these organizations are a wealth of info. They all work together & can point you in the right direction.

xoxoklowe @carolannmarkle Also do a google search for shih and/or sheltie rescues. Contact the one nearest to you. They often service multiple states. There are small dog rescues. Take away - just get on the phone & talk to people. You’ll find your new rescue babies. They are out there waiting for you. LMK how it goes 💖

xoxoklowe @carolannmarkle Yes, rescues are expensive but the adoption fees fund the rescues & allow them to continue their life saving work. They fully vet the animals, treat any medical/surgical needs, feed, house, transport, microchip, pay business expenses, etc. Rescues are costly to run. The adoption fees are usually much less than buying at a pet shop or breeder + your money is going to a great cause.

teia697 I fostered a Shar Pei mom and her eight pups. She had the puppies in a stranger’s doghouse. I took them in and loved those wrinkly little pups until I found them the perfect homes. I didn’t keep a mom but kept the mom Shar Pei and named her Missy. I had Missy for ten years and she was the greatest pup.

natashafialkov @xoxoklowe and you can look on petfinder too. I’m an English and American Bulldog lover but I would never get a dog from a breeder. My guys were from rescues, but they’d been vetted, neutered, had their shots, microchip AND I had a good idea of temperament.
