@hugo113 Thanks! Yeah the bottle was just laying in the floor and he started pawing at it spinning it around and then he embraced it with his paws in the photo and he he was doing these rabbit kicks with his back feet real fast. So I had to get a photo of that. He probably played with that bottle a good 20 minutes straight. Maybe he could still sense the smell from it or maybe he just liked being able to easily move around an object as big as himself.

@hugo113 Dom Perignon was the first champagne I ever drank, I drank my first bottle when I was 24 or 25, and ever since I have tried to have at least 1 or 2 bottles of it each year. I don't like beer. I don't care much for red wine. I've never been or had any interest in drinking really. I've tried a few things here and there a few times but never really cared for hard alcohols like whiskeys or liquors etc, none of it. But I really do enjoy the taste, scent, and feeling of Dom once or twice

@hugo113 a year. I've tried a few others like Moet & Chandon, Bollinger, Veuve Clicquot, and Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque..... they are pretty good, but Dom really is magical. Average price is usually about $200 a bottle, so $400 a year for all of my drinking, is probably less than some people spend in a month haha I wouldn't want to have it too frequently even if I could afford to because I think in excess it could cause heath issues, but when I have it I feel like I am getting to "live a little"

@hugo113 I'm also still wanting to go to Scottland & Ireland, almost got to go last year in July but because I lost my job in July I couldn't go... it's crazy that here we are in May, it's been almost a year since I had a job that paid what my job I lost in July paid. I start on 27th and get my 1st check 13th of June, but it will take me 2 or 3 months to get caught up on past due utilities & stuff. I'm past due over $500 right now on just my gas bill.

@hugo113 It's been a really rough past 10 months. losing that good job, then almost everyone stopped buying from me on Posh that October to the point that I had to stop selling. Between 2 jobs I have now I should get about 60 to 80 hours work each week though, so that will help me get to a better spot. I've got a whole list of places I want to travel to, and will have some money to finally do it by the end of the year or before, but it will be very hard to do while working two jobs 40 hour each

@hugo113 But I have some plans on how to reach financial freedom. Getting to the point where I have a house fully paid for is key, because having to come up with $1,115 each and every month to pay rent really stresses me out bad. In ohio you can buy a house for as little as $80,000 cash. And thats what I plan to do. At least once you own a house all you have to do is pay property tax, which in Ohio property tax on most houses is less than $50 a month.

@hugo113 I just don't like being in a position where if I miss a months rent I can get thrown out, and I also don't like the reality that if I didn't have that $1,115 rent bill each month then I could get by in life doing far less work and have a ton more freedom and time to pursue the things I want in life. With the money I've spent on rent the last 15 years I could have paid cash for 5 houses.

@hugo113 It makes me real angry still to this day to think of the guy, the customer that got me fired from Synchrony last July because he felt like I had an "attitude" so he made it a mission to complain to corporate and get me fired. My life has been filled with almost constant misery & struggle these last 10 months, so much depression & worry, no money to enjoy life, basically like the pause button put on my life, almost a year of lost time & life, all because of that one jerk.

@hugo113 It makes me dislike people in general very much, I really didn't have an attitude with that guy, but he thought I did, and even if I did, I don't think I deserve 10 months of punishment that his complaining to corporate as caused me. I mean things are about to be looking up now soon and thats in the past but I still will never get back those 10 months of my life. I feel he robbed me of that.

@hugo113 I don't know why people feel they need to be a jerk like that, I think maybe he perceived me as having an attitude because I didnt "kiss his butt" and I think thats what most customers are either used to or expect when they talk to customer service agents on the phone, but that's just not me, I don't do that. But instead of just letting it go, I guess he felt the need to destroy someones life. Or maybe people don't realize how much hardship getting someone fired can cause.

@hugo113 The cost of living here is cheap, violent crime is almost non-existent here, the weather is good, and there's not many places where you can easily get houses between $80,000 to $150,000. But there's zero amenities here, there's nothing to do here, nowhere to go here. And even if there were, I think most people here would think I am weird, I wouldn't fit in here. And I rarely ever see any women here that I even consider attractive. It's a very isolating place.

@hugo113 Especially after having lived in Austin, TX 7 years and then Phoenix, AZ 6 years. Those places had the social life and amenities that I want.... but they also have violent crime rate, high cost of living, and houses are around $450,000 and then about 10 times higher property tax than here too. Even surrounding areas to those places are too expensive for me or too dangerous. It's mind blowing how large the US is, but yet its impossible to find a place to live that checks all the boxes.

@hugo113 Also weather, tornados, wildfires, hurricanes, flooding, really limits where a person can live too. I really would love to move to Astoria, Oregon where the Goonies & Short Circuit were filmed, on the hill with the beautiful views of the ships on the river and that charming town.... I would find a way to get 500,000 for a house there... however, its common for those houses to slide off the hill, so I can't risk that.

@hugo113 I also thought maybe living in Myrtle beach SC could be nice, but so many houses there are in flood zones, and even more worrisome is every 5 years or so they have to evacuate for hurricanes, and I can't do that with all my cats. most hotels won't even allow that many cats. And I am not good at driving either so evacuation would be a nightmare for me.

@hugo113 I've been thinking about moving to Fort Wayne Indiana because they have an International Airport, And right now it cost me $100 to Uber to the Cleveland airport and then another $100 to get home from the airport, $200 roundtrip. And in the near future I am going to need to go to the airport almost every week... and that will add up to about $15,000 a year just getting to the airport & back. And I am too afraid of driving to drive myself that far.
May 18Reply

unique__fox
@hugo113 so living in a city that has a international airport is important to me. But, most international airports are located in cities with a ton of crime, bad weather, or just too expensive for me to live & buy a house. I've almost decided that Fort Wayne may also be too risky, my research shows they rarely have tornados in the city of Fort Wayne and I don't think they've had a tornado death since maybe the 1960s. But still, I worry that weather patterns may change because they are so close
May 18Reply

unique__fox
@hugo113 to where lots of tornados do happen. I mean they do get a lot of tornado watches and warnings but usually there's not any property damage, but still it worries me. There is a regional airport in Canton Ohio about 20 minutes from me vs an hour from Cleveland, that I may look into that may do the international flights I need but I am not sure I still have to check.

@hugo113 another negative about living here is that there's no jobs here I can do. I have been working remote since 2020 but, remote jobs are getting harder and harder to find... it took me a long time to get the two jobs I now have that are remote. I came very close to getting evicted and homeless during these 10 months and getting food was a struggle because money was so low. And one thing I thought was wow this is real bad to be here because if I was in Austin or Phoenix I could get plenty
May 18Reply

unique__fox
@hugo113 of jobs at a physical location, and both Austin & Phoenix had international airports, and decent bus systems, but here there's no jobs I can do, so if I don't get remote work I am screwed. But in ATX or PHX that was never a worry, hundreds of places there I could quickly get hired at. Again, its so strange how huge the US is, almost 4,000 miles end to end, 50 states, yet finding places that check all the boxes is almost impossible unless you are rich.
