Mottahedeh George Washington's Mount Vernon Round Ceiling Box ©️1997

Circular, cream-colored porcelain open box, container or compote, beautifully relief molded with pairs of leafy scrolls around its exterior. Slightly rounded, overhanging rim and flat bottom with projecting cove. Blue-green printed backstamp on underside for "Mount Vernon / The Home of George Washington" (with 1997 copyright date) and Mottaheddeh. Measures 2 1/4" h x 5 3/4" diameter (rim). Mottahedeh discontinued making these boxes at least 10 years ago. I purchased this one without a lid/cover. Over the years, it has been used as a bottle/decanter holder, candy dish, catch-all and dresser box. Good used condition. One hairline crack on side (see pics).
