Motawi Tileworks (Ann Arbor MI) "Checkerpot Rose" tile in a wooden gold tone/black on sides/edges frame. Striking combination. Tile measurements approx. 7 7/8" tall x 3 7/8" wide x 5/8" deep. Framed tile approx. measurements: 9 7/8" tall x 5 5/16" wide. Very good pre-owned condition. Smoke free home. Unable to bundle. This tile was adapted from a design for a book cover Dard Hunter created. Dard Hunter (1883-1966) was primarily devoted to the study of papermaking. His designs for the Roycroft community in East Aurora, New York, helped define the Arts and Crafts movement in America. Each Motawi tile is crafted by hand.
