do these fit similar to the tuff shorts you also have for sale? are the pockets very deep? ( like to fit a phone)

These are my wife’s so here’s what she says: They are a little looser and a lighter weight fabric than the tough shorts. Her standard size iPhone fits in it; probably fit a bigger phone. The pocket opening is not too big and is not angled in a way that the phone would fall out if you were sitting down. Hope that helps!
