A mokorotlo is a type of conical straw hat widely used for traditional Sotho clothing, and is the national symbol of Lesotho - a country inside South Africa - and the national symbol of the Basotho and Lesotho peoples. The image of the mokorotio appears on the Lesotho national flag. Traditionally worn by men with authority. This Mokorotio was acquired by a collector in the 1990's - it is tightly woven in a indigenous grass - mosea - and measures 13 inches in diameter. Very wearable Beautiful Condition Measures 12"5 base diameter and 13" high I LOVE vintage antique and unique items! I source our eclectic items locally in St.Louis. I do my very best to describe the items factually, but I am not an expert. Feel free to ask any questions before purchase or making an offer. Please view all pictures carefully as these are the complete descriptions of item. I carefully pack and insure all items. Items are not returnable unless item received is not pictured item. I recycle shipping materials whenever possible. Thanks so much for Shopping
