The lids are removable measure approximately: 3.25" Tall - - With Lid on 4.25" Tall Ceramic Porcelain Jugs have a raised floral pattern on both sides. Last photo shows a ding on the rim of one pitcher, I think you could gently sand it. The rims are bumpy and uneven to begin with, so actually hardly noticeable.
