Mid Century Modern Brutalist Gilt Metal Lotus Flower Sculpture Candleholder This is a Stunning Mid Century Modern Brutalist Gilded Metal Lotus Flower Sculpture/Candleholder. This piece is so unique and unusual. It is forged metal sculpted with five stalks; three with leaves, one with a lotus bud and the main one a full bloom lotus flower that holds a large pillar/Globe candle. The sculpting on every inch of the piece is detailed and intricate from the rooted base/foot to the veins and lines of the leaves and flowers. It is a wonderful example of the Brutalist style that was popular in the Mid-Century era of the 50's and 60's. Brass, Bronze and Copper Alloys were the most popular metals used for this type of application. The piece is heavy at approximately 5.5 lbs. and stands approximately 19.5" tall. It is approximately 8" wide by 6" in width. The piece is in great vintage condition with some slight wear on the patina which is inherent with vintage items and does not take away from the overall gorgeous presentation. This is an impactful and impressive piece of MCM art.
