Very early vintage Mexican silver brooch with amethyst cabochon in great vintage condition. Beautiful round domed purple stone, about 1/2” diameter. Likely amethyst, with inclusions, irregularities. Shaped in pre-Colombian Eagle, bird motif with outstretched wings and talons. C clasp, primitive design. Fully functional. Marked Silver Mexico. Predates the institution of the Eagle Marking system set in place in 1948. Era: 1930-1940’s In the style of works by William Spratling, Antonio Pineda et al.
