Vintage detailed Tonala pottery napkin holder. Bird and flowers on onside, and a butterfly on the other. Tonala pottery takes its name from the town of Tonalá, located in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. This town has been a center for pottery production since pre-Columbian times. The tradition of creating Tonala pottery has deep historical roots, influenced by ancient civilizations such as the Aztecs and the Mayans. This is a very detailed hand painted, the paint is shiny on earthenware. Beautiful colors. Great condition, no chips or cracks 4 1/2" Tall X 6" Wide
