Many thousands of swatches are mounted in the book, including some 3,750 stylized floral and geometric patterned silks; 2368 fancy weaves; 343 stripes; 158 prints of fancy weaves; 109 twills printed with white dye; and 75 brocades. In this understated and urbane pattern, polka dots appear to miniaturize and highlight the check pattern of the background. [Gift of the Estate of Benjamen E.
