Any idea what type of leather? Almost looks like kudu.

Unfortunately the shoes do not say what type of leather. They do have the characteristics of Kudo. They are fully lined in leather so no way to see the underside of the leather.

@maureenschorr Thanks. I haven't had any luck finding info either, like an old Brooks Brothers listing, e.g. I know BB has had some amazing clearance deals following their bankruptcy, but I can't find details on these boots via BB or elsewhere. An old retail listing would give more details on the leather, but also prayerfully reviews on sizing for this specific model. Nice looking boots, but I'm unfortunately hesitant to make an offer on such an unknown.

The closest boots I can find online for comparison is the Eben boot by Ron Rider Boot Co. I'd guess Rider and BB sourced their boots from the same Italian manufacturer. Rider did the boots via Massdrop, and doesn't currently offer them.
From what I'm reading, the sizing seems somewhat TTS, if a bit long in the toes.

@timgeist These boots were not part of the liquidation deals. These boots pre date the liquidation by a few years. By memory, these boots are from F/W ~2016.

@randomhouse1 Thanks for the info!

@randomhouse1 Makes sense on the date, as the Reddit post on the Rider version was 2016.

@timgeist That helps me a bit. I remember these boots from BB back then and they are made from Kudu as you said. I'm not sure if the Rider by Cortina model is the same exact. Unfortunately the many Brooks Brothers models are lost to time, not every boot was presented in their catalogues and there is no archive of their website. Models like this kudu boot that were shortlived and were only available for one season are just not something that you can research like an Alden or AE shoe.

@randomhouse1 I'm a big fan of kudu, and own kudu boots from Parkhurst, Allen Edmonds, and Meermin. This Brooks Brothers pair is pretty light colored, and I'm not sure how much of my wardrobe they'd go with.

@timgeist Yes these boots were bought some time ago. I bought for my husband as a gift but he never wore them. I would think that the color could darken with the application of a leather conditioner. They are in need of a good home. If interested you can always make an offer.

@maureenschorr Let me check with my fashion consultant (wife). She bought me some totally different boots for Christmas that are still coming (had to exchange sizes), so I don't want her to feel I'm ungrateful by immediately buying something else. I do love kudu though, so I'll consider potentially making an offer.

Sounds like a wise plan.
