runlikegirl @nyccanary Hi Sonia! I saw you just ran your first marathon last year! Congratulations!!! How was it? I've run several half marathons and 5ks and 10ks and I'm training for my first full marathon... 5 weeks to go! Lmk if u have any tips!!! 😀

nyccanary @runlikegirl thanks! It was a thrill to have NYC as my first - I'm doing it again this November! Which marathon are you running? My biggest tips are: Always dress at least 20 degrees colder than it actually is outside (I.e. If it's 60 degrees, dress for 40). That was my biggest mistake last year - I was in a tshirt and capris and roasted in the heat!

nyccanary And two: I'm a HUGE fan of the Galloway method. A super fast mentor of mine does Galloway and still runs a 7 min mile including her walk ratios! This year our team had a 95% success rate of completing the race and that's normal! Also it's a great group of people no matter where you live to find a running community! Ps I'm doing the Tinkerbell half in Anaheim in May, will you be there?

runlikegirl @nyccanary that is so cool that u are running NYC again! I bet that is an awesome race to run! The Disney runs all seem great too and I was trying to convince a friend to do the Dumbo double dare this fall but no one would sign up with me! 😥 I didn't think it would be as fun to do alone! Have so much fun at the tinkerbell! I wish I was running that! My marathon is in May... So I haven't signed up for anything else around now. It's the ojai marathon 👍🏼

runlikegirl @nyccanary and I totally agree about overdressing! I made that mistake for my first half marathon and paid dearly! 😖 I should try the Galloway method! I know people swear by it!!
