Well how do I tell you about 6 years of trauma in a comment?! No, I’m doing ok I guess. Life has just been hard since mom died. But I’m still breathing. The reason for still breathing is my little angel granddaughter, Elsie! If you go to my closet there are some listings with pics of her! How old is your boy now?? I bet he’s grown! Yikes! We are OLD!

Andy is 20! He’s moving out next month to live on ISU’s campus. He goes to our community college here. He’s got a pretty steady girlfriend who I actually adore. Jeff is also good.
Sorry to hear things have been hard. That’s unfair. I think about your mama often. Pretty much every time I buy a cucumber. 😂

@hjayoung lmao the cucumber story lived on! I just miss her so much! It’s really a loss unlike anything I’ve ever felt. We only get one mom,
Megan & family still live in Decatur. I hate being away from that baby! She FaceTimed me & I was flying up every few months but now I can’t. I was there the end of January for her 1st bday. As soon as Megan thinks they virus had cleared enough I’ll drive up if I have to!

Fallon & her boyfriend live with us. She’s got a great job & is set to take over the world! Colby lives down here too, just about 5 minutes from me.
I can’t believe Andy is 20! Time flies! Colby is 32! That seems impossible! I feel like I should be 32!

@hollyc777 32? Ha!! Distant distant memory for this girl. I can’t believe how fast time goes by. I’m glad you’ve got the kids nearby. I am sure they love that too. My mom lives here in Normal. She’s in an assisted living complex and has been here going on three years. She has dementia. Steph and her family are also in Decatur. She works for a realtor and her husband works at Springfield memorial. Her daughters are amaze balls. Love them all to pieces!

@hjayoung How advanced is your moms dementia? My mom had some dementia as well. Some days she could talk to me & was totally with it & fine but other days she wasn’t with it at all. I could be sitting there visiting with her for an hour & she would suddenly look at me & say “when did you get here?” Like she was seeing me for the first time. She wouldn’t remember anything I had told her. I loved when she had a really good day & I could talk her leg off cause I got my whole mom back for the day.

@hollyc777 like your mom, it really depends on the day. Hers is vascular dementia, so the vessels in her brain are slowing the flow of blood/oxygen to her brain. She can ask the same damned question multiple times in one sitting. She has asked more than once how she has gotten here to Bloomington... doesn't remember the hospital, the nursing home she was in immediately following for physical therapy, none of it. She has asked if she was ever married. Who she was married to, and I tell her.

Sometimes she remembers dad, other times not. Not too bad considering how much she hated him! Lol
Other times she is as clear as a bell and I feel like I have my mom again. It's pretty awful getting used to parenting your parent. I had no idea this was going to happen.

I think you need to get busy & list some more stuff! I like those star leggings! That tie dye sweatshirt you had was cute too but I see it’s sold out. I was just in Decatur for 12 days to go see Megan & Elsie! I couldn’t take it anymore! I hadn’t been there since January due to COVID! I’ll probably be back in January again for her bday, tho it kills me to come that time of year! I’m looking to maybe rent a house & be there all summer! Megan is due with baby #2 June 9th! Another girl!! Yeah!!

You are right about listing more. I’m swamped in the shop and not able to keep up. I used Poshmark to help sell during covid. We are opening a new location in January. Once the holiday dust settles, I plan to get back to it. We also launched an e-commerce website. I love it all, but it’s a lot sometimes. 😂
