I actually have 7 total, but in my defense, I live in the country, and 3 are always in the shop or garage if not on the front porch, and 1 is half feral, so she is usually in the neighbor's barn... Those are my farm kitties, although they are all spoiled rotten. Then I have my "Old Man" kitty who just turned 15, my Norweigen Forest Cat, and my Maltipoo. I can't help it!

@ailouros Thank you!! Squirtie Boy is the one on the sink. He weighed less than 2# when my friend found him an brought him to me. He was about 4wks old and got separated from his Momma during a storm. Now, 5yrs later, he's a 20# moose! Maxximus Pootimus is under the covers. He was abandoned outside of a Humane Society at 4wks old, and was very sick. He almost died the weekend I brought him home. Now, he's 15yo, and my baby.

@ailouros Bubba is my Maltipoo, and I adopted him from some friends as a companion/therapy dog for my Gram because she had Alzheimers Disease. I got him about 6mo before Squirtie. They were all BFFs until she passed. Poor Bubba is just now starting to come out of his depression, and Gram passed away in September. I guess we all kinda are to be honest.

I'm retired now from teaching 30 years, and believe if was still teaching Kindergarten, I would have to be committed for sure!! I've had both knees replaced, and a shoulder replaced in the past two years, so know those pesky health issues my self. You can only do the best you can, leave the rest for tomorrow! That's awesome that you do rescues! I have a family member who takes in foster dogs that are awaiting adoption. I don't currently have any pets but recently my daughter's 2 cats stayed with us for about a year while she was moving / house-hunting / renovating. I sure do miss them now that I only see them once a month or so :( There was a time when my kids were young that we had about 17 barn cats and kittens! All I've got now are my 2 four-footed furry grand-kitties who live a few hours away.

@alaskaminnie I've been thinking about you too! My brother and his wife were just here over the weekend visiting from Nikiski. Oh how I miss the Alaska summers! It's been in the upper 90's here for weeks, with crazy humidity, so I can honestly say that I would much rather be up there! How are things with you and your family? Were you able to get some good fishing in? I heard the reds were running like crazy up the Kasilof.

@gracefulginger yikes 90s! Whew I won’t complain about the weeks of rain we have been having then cause I don’t think I could take the heat! We have been good this summer! Lots of Seldovia fishing so we have a freezer full of halibut, kings and silvers so we are blessed! In September my hubby is going moose hunting so fingers crossed we will have tons of moose burger and stew this winter! Hopefully you had an amazing visit with your brother! Best wishes!!
