I've met a few Poshers from Missouri but none from St. Louis that I'm aware of. I was just through there last night on my way home from Chicago. Mom and I took a girls' trip and had planned on staying in STL last night and going to a flea market this morning but every hotel from downtown to At least Warrenton was booked solid because of conferences, a concert, and ball games. It was a very long day. Lol! What brings you through St Louis? Business?

We've been full-out working on it since March or April and the event won't be for another month.

I hate the thought of those sweet animals being put down simply because their forever family wasn't there at the right time. :( Thank you for your generous offer! poshinistajen @meg___ Very cool! Check out the PM Etiquette and Dos and Dont's listings to make sure you follow the rules. The rule followers are the ones that make the most sales and get their items picked for the daily Posh Parties which will get some awesome exposure for your closet as well as more followers. I tend to follow everyone who follows me as well as find other people to follow. Many people will follow back so they will see your items in their feed. Good pictures are important as well as accurate descriptions. Let me know if you have any questions! I am happy to help! 😊

poshinistajen @alombardo29 No problem! Yes! Check out the PM dos and don'ts and read the policies on what is allowed. Just follow the rules and you will be fine! Follow a lot of people and they will usually follow back. Share items from your closet a few times a day amd to the parties if they match the theme to get exposure and more followers. Share items from other people's closet as most people will return the favor! As far as selling, take good clear photos in good lighting. Some of the best pictures are taken outside or in a room with natural light. That will help buyers see the true color of an item. Make sure your item descriptions are thourough with brand and measurements and color.

Also, I am flexible on pricing, especially for items I have had listed for a while and some things that are smaller sizes. You can always make an offer or ask what I'd ask for a bundle price. I like to keep my closet fresh with new listings, plus I love helping people find something they really like!

There are like 2 million people on Poshmark, so try to take time every day and follow as many people as possible. You can find people by clicking on my followers list, or clicking on the Poshmark Party Hosts followers lists to get the really big lists!!

poshinistajen @skidoo_24 Once you have several thousand followers your sales should pick up. I know my sales really started when I hit 10k followers. Take time to build up your closet of stuff too. Make sure your photos are good. Clear, clean and bright photos with contrast really help! I use an app called PhotoGrid to do my photos and turn up the brightness and contrast. Presentation is everything!

poshinistajen @peacehopelove No, I wish I was! I am just a regular user and had a lot of support and mentors when I first joined. So it is only right to pay it forward! This has been a great extra source of income for me and a very fun hobby! I will see what I can do to recommend you for a Host Pick to some of the party hosts. It may take a few weeks, but Poshmark highly encourages the party hosts to pick from new poshers, so you have a bit of an advantage being new! ;-)

Boston is a great town but I would choose a warmer climate like Florida any day! I am not a fan of the Iowa winters. The only thing I like is wearing boots and scarves every day. Lol....

Love Napa and Sonoma and San Diego area. I have actually never been to LA. My parents do enjoy Florida and have said they will be snow birds but my mom hasn't been home in at least two years so she has been sweating it out in the summers down there...lol..

poshinistajen @k1happyday The Salisbury house is a gem. A beautiful place with beautiful gardens. Haven't been the the conservation area you mentioned... Wineries in. Cali? Of course! We try to go out every few years for a serious wine trip. Last trip we did 36 wineries in 6 days. Started at 8 am every day and usually finished around 7pm. It was like a job. But a ton of fun! :-)

poshinistajen @sandrad1963 Try sharing it to your followers and then go to the party to see if it appears on the top. You may have to scroll down a little to see it. My understanding is that the party listings refresh when people share those items in their news feeds. So it is constantly changing.

amconover61 You have a dress in my closet that you like I just wanted to let you know that even though it is marked 14 it is only 15 in across the chest laying flat so the sizing on this is a bit smaller than normal. I see that you have another dress that a size 14 which is a true 14 those are my sizes 14 and 16 but that I believe it is a laundry green and blue skirt is size two bit smaller I can give you some more measurements if you need them

poshinistajen @lilcandy0131 When I asked if there was any signs of wear or damage to the purse, you said "no, not at all" which was completely false. All four corners on the bottom seams had been worn off, the fabric was puckered (water damage?). The suede was stained on both sections and the calf hair part on the front had been worn off in one corner. The purse is so damaged I would never carry it. It is ready for the trash or Goodwill.

poshinistajen @lilcandy0131 The dress was stained. Seriously, one stain by the neckline and all down the front there are deodorant marks. The pink scarf has many runs in the fabric, it just belongs in the trash. Too many runs to count. The black metallic scarf was falling apart and had many metallic strands hanging off of it. One of the other scarves had a good size run (hole) in it. These are all things that should have been disclosed in the listings, not hidden in the photographs.

I would recommend either getting a light kit (as low as $50 from Amazon) or using an app to lighten your photos up a bit. I use PhotoGrid as it has the ability to modify brightness and contrast.

It is the first impression that matters! Also share your entire closet at least three times a day! And share other people's listings too!

poshinistajen @styleplusgrace Personally I don’t think the labels/separators are worth it because you have to keep things in order and also it takes time to do that share. And it adds up. You want to share your entire closet at least once a day. They recommend three times a day.

poshinistajen @styleplusgrace This essentially “refreshes” the date and time on the item and when someone searches for that item, it will appear at the top of the search results if it has been shared most recently. Try searching Poshmark for an item you have in your closet by brand and description. See how long you have to scroll until you see it. This is also why you need brand names and descriptors in your title of every item.

I would recommend focusing on getting your followers up. This will also help with people sharing back. Once you hit 10,000 20,000 50,000 followers people are more likely to share your items back.

It really helped to build my following fast. I would spend maybe 15 minutes per day just following people.

Another thing I think helps is going in and editing each item and hitting next and then list. We call this ENL) & it makes it look like the listing was updated recently.

poshinistajen I like the fact that you have some stock photos as it makes the closet look clean and professional. I always recommend taking photos on a white or light background and using an app like Photo Grid 2 brighten it or adjust the contrast.

You want to share every single one of your available listings at least once a day if not three times a day. Start at the bottom of your closet and work your way to the top sharing only the available listings that are for sale.

poshinistajen @danciaw you should see a little rectangular Arrow recycle looking icon. That is your share button. It is faster to do it from your closet rather than going into each item and sharing it individually. If you are on a phone or tablet you can long press on the item and the share option will come up.

poshinistajen @danciaw the reason you want to start from the bottom up is that is the order that things will remain in as you share them. When you share something it goes to the top of your closet. So I recommend those more expensive items, more colorful items, really good photos, put those at the top.

Yes you can use a white sheet or white or light-colored wall or some people like to use those furry white rug looking things that you can get it like Hobby Lobby that are fabric. And another option is to just hanging on a hanger and hang it on door frame or something you have in your house. That is how I started was taking pictures in my bathroom with stuff hanging on a door.

poshinistajen @styleplusgrace Wow! Yes it is the new SU program! Essentially it means you will start getting new followers at a faster rate because the system will auto match you. Also you will get more style requests from people who are the same size as sizes you carry in your closet. Be sure to respond to at least 50% of the style requests, even if you only send one or two recommendations.

Jury is out on that but from what the CEO said at Poshfest, they are starting to reward those active community members so it's possible it results in more sales.

poshinistajen @styleplusgrace hi there! Just getting around to answering your questions. Poshfest is an annual convention and sometimes they have it in different cities. This year was Chicago and so there's a registration fee and it's usually a great event to attend to learn about everything posh. Anyone can attend. The parties and Posh and sip Gatherings are usually open and organized by people in different communities.

As far as host picks go those are picked by party hosts. Most of the party host are Poshmark ambassadors and people that have been on the app for a while.

I've hosted a party twice and they tell us to have about 100 host picks ready to go for the party and we sit there and manually share them to the party feed during the time period

They also recommend that we feature new users that have at least 10 items for sale in their closet. There is a set of rules for hosting a party and so you must follow the rules in order to be asked to host again.

turbotaylor Hey babe! As a mentor I have a question about Shipping Days! Is it better to not accept an offer until you know you can ship same day? I always wonder how it’s calculated. For example, I accepted an offer on Sunday, the post office was closed yesterday due to the holiday, so it went out today. I’m sure PM doesn’t know when the holidays are when we ship so I wonder if I should’ve accepted the offer today (Tuesday) and shipped it today too.

poshinistajen @turbotaylor Great question! The clock starts ticking once the offer is accepted or sale is made and goes until the package is scanned by the post office for the first time. I am not sure if they take Sundays and holidays into account. Personally I would not recommend waiting as buyers who submitted an offer could potentially cancel their offer if it takes too long for you to respond.

poshinistajen @turbotaylor It's more important to respond in a timely manner to offers and ship as soon as you can, but I wouldn't stress about shipping same day all the time as it will all average out once you have a ton of sales if you're shipping within a day or two, you will be just fine!

poshinistajen @elderfriend I would focus on following as many poshers as you can to build up your following. Sales get easier once you hit 5k, 10k, 25k, 50k followers etc.. Most people follow back. A good thing to do is to go to the find new people link and follow as many new people as possible.

poshinistajen @yrobilyke Hi there! Welcome to Poshmark! In order to offer free or reduced shipping, you have to get a buyer to put the item in a bundle. Then go into their bundle and make an offer and there you can select Free Shipping or Discounted shipping. Hope that helps!

It's an investment but it's really worth it if you're going to Posh a lot! A plain white wall also works or there are some photography backgrounds that you can purchase at places like Hobby Lobby that are brick or wood patterns.

PhotoGrid is a free download for Android and iOS. That is also the same app that I use to edit my photos and make them brighter or adjust the contrast.

poshinistajen @mrsdcm Hi There! I just saw your message and I don't think I responded yet. I would recommend sharing your closet in its entirety at least three times per day. Also, focus on taking good photos of your items that will attract attention. The clothing looks more appealing on a mannequin or a hanger. Or a flat lay on top of a rug or piece of fabric. I wouldn't recommend photographing items on the floor. Light colored backgrounds like white walls are just fine. Hope that helps!

poshinistajen @katt1003 Hello! Every time you share to a party or to your followers, that item goes to the top of your closet. So initially what I do is go through and use the filter feature on my closet and filter by category (like jeans or tops) and then share all of those, then filter again by another category and share those. It stays in the order you share with most recent at top.

poshinistajen @katt1003 So when refreshing my closet on a daily basis, I start with the items at the bottom of my closet and share up (not sharing solds) and then that will push all the sold stuff to the bottom. It's important to try to do this at least once a day because it also modifies the time it was last edited and makes it more likely to be shown in search results.

poshinistajen @katt1003 That is great! If you scroll up you can see some advice I have given to other poshers. I took a look at your closet and I guess the biggest thing I would recommend is improving photos. I never use the Poshmark built-in camera. The quality is not that great. (Continued)

poshinistajen @katt1003 I would recommend taking photos with your cell camera and using an app like PhotoGrid to edit them. You can create collages, brighten them and adjust contrast before saving them in a square format perfect for Poshmark or Instagram! The app is free and available for Android or iOS. Any of the photos in my closet where you can see side by side fill length photos of an item with a watermark in the bottom corner are made with PhotoGrid. Just remember, good pictures sell!!

He wears golf shirts year round. Lol! I would hate to go any smaller than a 2XL because he looks like a sausage busting out of its casing! 😂😂😂 And yes, I tell him this so he doesn't leave the house..lol

jkez36m @poshinistajen Jen I had a buyer who gave me five stars for an item. Then changed it to 2 stars because It did not fit. I listed the correct size. I always ask buyers to ask questions before purchase. This is annoying because there is no recourse. Should I just inhale and move on? LoL.

poshinistajen @jkez36m I have had that happen too! It's a crapshoot! If you try to educate the buyer on how the rating system works sometimes they appreciate it and sometimes they get vindictive and change the star rating to even lower.
