Wonderful Mayflower Glass Oil PlatformMouth Blown, Sealed in Bell Jar Hand Made, Limited Edition, Discontinued A very unusual piece completely handmade by the venerable British glass firm, Mayflower (who are reknowned for their ships in bottles.) This piece is in mint condition, and still bears the "Made in Great Britain" sticker on the bell jar. The lovely russet color in some of the glass is achieved by mixing powdered 24K gold into the glass. Though a photograph of this piece can still be found on the Mayflower website (it is stunningly unsual after all), correspondance with the firm revealed that the company no longer produces this oil platform, which features a derrick, crane and helicopter on a platform above a blue felt "sea."
