Margaret Godfrey for Bagatelle Vintage 70s Long Leather Jacket Coat. 100% genuine leather coat. Tagged a size 5, extra small. 38.5” shoulder to hem, 16” pit to pit flat from back. Fully lined, single breasted, pointed collar, lapels, back waist belt with buttons, 4 button front closure. This one is not perfect, but I just could not throw out. Been in the back of my mother-in-law’s closet for years. This could be your history salvage project, with missing 2nd button, some scratches and patches. Three holes in a row on inside right panel lining. See photos as they are part of the description. Endless ways to style this vintage piece, over your night out dresses or with jeans, boots and sneakers ! A wardrobe staple. High quality, used vintage item. A Montreal ready-to-wear firm known for their leather and suede fashions, Bagatelle was founded in 1967 by Jack Margolis, with Margaret Godfrey designing. Born in England, Godfrey worked in both the London and New York fashion industries, with a brief tenure at Jonathan Logan before being hired by Margolis. In 1969, she became a partner as well as head designer. After a 1992 bankruptcy, Godfrey worked with Michael Litvak to resurrect the company, and in 1996 Bagatelle was relaunched. Godfrey retired in 2010.
