Fun Marc Jacob Fact; Perry Ellis the Designer (1940–1986) was Marc Jacobs Idol, who recommended Marc attend the Parsons School of Design in New York. In 1988 Jacobs was named vice president of women's design at Perry Ellis, where he gained international recognition for his revolutionary "grunge" collection, which he debuted in 1992. Marc was promptly terminated for the radical departure of the brand's clean-cut image.
