shiann1953 Look between each pearl and if they are stranded with lace and are tied at each pearl. That is so they won’t rub together. If that is so they are real..... and worth a lot more than you are asking for. If you are not sure take them to a jeweler.

silverfox1126np @shiann1953 Between Each Pearl they are tied which looks like Lace, clasp is 925 and in working condition, I looked through jewelers loop. I know there real now. Thank You I will bring to Jeweler next week, see what he says. I will let you know.

hyaphilomena Hi there, in case you didn’t already find out, Majorica pearls (and all pearls from the Spanish island of Mallorca) are beautiful, stunning, lustrous ARTIFICIAL pearls! They are glass beads with a coating of a substance made from fish scales or crushed shells and it’s very difficult to tell that they are not genuine pearls. So, vintage or not, these are faux pearls.

Now based in Majorca, the company was founded in 1890 in Barcelona. In 1990, Gems & Gemology described Majorica pearls as "the most widely marketed and meticulously manufactured imitation [pearl] today". Production Majorica imitation pearls are man-made on solid balls, likely made of glass, that are coated with a proprietary coating that is made in part from fish scales.

hyaphilomena @shiann1953 There are lots of faux pearls stranded with single knots for the express purpose of appearing genuine. The best self test is to rub 2 of the pearls together; if they’re totally smooth, they’re artificial. If they are slightly gritty, then they’re (99% of the time, anyway) real!
