@elenamarks87 crushed velvet is such a 90s thing & I thought I didn’t care about it anymore, but I DO! In the 70s, the 50s were all the rage (Happy Days, Grease), & in the 90s everyone was obsessed w the 70s (I don’t know HOW many 70s parties I went to!) and now it’s all happening again!

@elenamarks87 oh also I had a silver crushed velvet mock turtleneck but I traded it, & when I was selling @ this Flea Market one time all the college girls were dying over it & I just let them take it bc I didn’t feel like lugging it home. I have a crushed dark blue velvet pair of overalls in my closet right now, I love them but my torso is really short & I have no boobs & look like I’m 5 in overalls (yet another 90s phenom! I just sold my FP pair!)

@elenamarks87 I remember thinking crushed velvet was stale, around 2005- overnight! It’s kind of miraculous how we see things years later as beauteous, & you excel at making velvet sound luscious! You should have the overalls (why I never make $! It’s fun to give people stuff though). I’m probably wrong thinking it takes a womanly figure to pull them off, but I have millions of pics, me in overall shorts. I think I look short& frumpy & now my bias is against overalls!

@caityschmaity Hi, Caitlin! I’m Elena, nice to “meet” you here! Thank you very much for the insight. Fashion is definitely going around in circles which is why vintage has been such a big trend for decades now... I personally prefer the look & feel of smooth velvet instead of crushed velvet though. Have a great week and happy poshing! 😘💋🌹❤️✌️
