It was the 80’s, & the movie Pretty In Pink hit the theaters. The characters Andie & Duckie brought back mid century 1950’s style with such flair that it made us all want to dress just the way they did! There was a fabulous store in NYC called The Antique Boutique where I found this treasure! It’s a men’s 3 button jet black overcoat by the Puccini brand, sold by Moe Serchuck Inc Fifth Avenue, NY. The satin lining is spectacularly striped, & the outer material is a very fine weaved, luxe fabric, almost looks like a tuxedo jacket/ fine suit type material. There’s no size in the jacket, just a registered # of 8077, as I believe it was custom fitted to the original owner, so please use measurements listed below very carefully to ensure a good fit. There’s 2 inside pockets, 2 outside pockets, & the buttons are mother of pearl. It has a split rear base for comfort while sitting & for ease of walking, & it’s a Union made garment, Amalgamated Workers of America, tag in an inside pocket. When I purchased as vintage back in the 80’s it was super pricy, & I know why, as it’s lasted the test of time & still looks practically new! I’m downsizing for retirement & it’s time to let go of some of the treasures I’ve been hoarding from youth - I hope that a new generation can give it even more life & illusive style!
