Here is a beautiful aqua blue glass pitcher, handmade in Empoli, Italy. This item would date to the 1950s/1960s, when a lot of Empoli glassware was being imported to the American market by companies such as Rossini. The pitcher exterior is in perfect condition with no flaws. The interior, be aware, has some very light spots of residue just below the neck where the bulbous part begins, which is difficult to reach/clean. With the right brush, you could remove it. The other thing is that when you place the pitcher down, it has a little wobble before it settles.
The pitcher holds approx. 40 oz./5 cups - it could hold a little more if filled to very top
The approx. measurements are 8" tall, from lip to bottom, 5.5" across top from handle to spout tip, 17" diameter at widest part, 3" base
Photos 1-4, pitcher, rotated
Photo 5, lip/spout folded design
Photo 6, bottom of pitcher
Photo 7, the glass thickness at the bottom looks a little uneven, which is perhaps what causes the slight wobble
Photo 8, close-up of sticker/label which reads "Rossini Hand Made Genuine Empoli Glass Italy"
Photos 9-11, additional images, pretty as a vase too!
Photo 12, photo from a slideshow(#14)/virtual tour at the Museo del Vetro di Empoli (Empoli Glass Museum) - you can see all the beautiful colors, including the color of this pitcher
Photos 13-16, old ads from Life Magazine (12/1/1961) & various newspapers, arrows possibly pointing to this item?
