California Originals started as Heirlooms of Tomorrow in 1945 in Manhattan Beach, CA, making Victorian porcelain lace figurines. The company changed its name to California Originals, moved to Torrance California, and changed its product line to Mid-Century Modern ceramics for home and giftware. California Originals used a variety of techniques, like drip-glaze, in colors of reds, yellows, oranges, greens, and browns. In 1982, California Originals closed its doors.
