Mid century brass fire guard with 9 fans that are adjustable and extend out and hold their position thanks to a turn of the top handle. When not in use, the screen folds back in and another twisting of the handle keeps them tucked away. Extremely heavy, this vintage 1940s-50s piece weighs well over 10lbs. A cameo face is featured in the upper portion on both sides, and floral design is found both top and bottom. There is a very Art Deco, Victorian vibe to this guard, and one company known for their production is Hollywood Regency- neoclassical motif, for sure! The patina has been left on, leaving the decision to remove it or enjoy it aged to the next owner.
