MCM 16th Century Reproduction Brass Apothecary Mortar & Pestle/Sea Horse Handles This is a beautiful Mid-Century Modern Replica of a 16th Century Brass Apothecary Mortar & Pestle with Sea Horse Handles. The piece is made of heavy brass with a wonderful brass ring sound when tapped. There are impressed letters (most likely Latin} around the perimeter of the mortar. Made in the MCM era, it is a replica of an original 16th century piece from Germany. The piece measures approximately 4" high by 5" handle to handle. The pestle is 7" long. The piece has been well taken care of and in in great vintage condition.
