Lévis jean shorts

I’m not exactly sure on the size of these. The last picture shows a size 33, which seems odd to me. I normally wear a size 27 in Madewell jeans. I bought these from urban outfitters a couple years ago. My guess is the 33 was the original pant size before they were converted to shorts.
