My groove pants that I love don’t have an extra elastic seem at the waist so it doesn’t dig into my skin. Then They changed the design so the newer ones have a seem at the waist, which tends to have extra elastic.
The old ones the top panel is just folded over fabric that are sewn at the hip line seem.
