Lucile Blanch Painting / Drawing - Still Life Flowers in a Vase Framed in Antique Frame Famous American Artist.
This is a special find. Still life picture in chalk pastels. This is very old. There is a small tear in the picture you can see when you look closely. The framed size is 14 3/4” x 18 1/2”.
Lucile Blanche (1895 - 1981) was a very accomplished and famous artist.
She led an accomplished and interesting life. Here’s a snippet from Wikipedia I thought was a awesome!
She (Lucile) and Arnold Blanch married in New York and traveled to France to continue their art studies. They later moved to Woodstock, New York where they helped develop the Woodstock art colony.
The couple was friends with Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, sharing the same studio building and telephone in San Francisco when Arnold was appointed a teaching position and Rivera was commissioned to paint two murals in the city. Blanch would remember Kahlo in her later years: "[Diego's] dear little wife--she and I became buddies...The four of us had a wonderful winter. They were very good playmates”.

New to PM and don't know where else to go to ask these questions. . . . When you say it's in chalk pastels, are you saying it's an original? Also, may I ask where it came from? Thanks much!

@smuessman I’m not an art expert. This looks to be very old. It is framed behind glass as I found it. The signature looks like it has been originally signed. Whether she signed a France that was made from an original or this is an original. I am really not sure. I found it in a local antiques store in the Midwest.
