@gayleshriner yes it is the soft cotton material and I'm not quite sure what you mean by pilling?

I have sadly discovered that skirts that have been worn, in particular the more cottonly, plushy fabrics, develop hard tiny balls where they have been rubbed. Typical locations are along the back hem on the inside, or even worse, on the front around the hips where a purse has rubbed. Another issue is skirts that have been washed with tissues or towels and take on a very fine lint that never leaves. both problems leave skirts looking old and tired - not the look I want.......

@gayleshriner I completely understand your worry with that. this skirt does not have that and it has been worn once. I am a teacher and I bought it for its beautiful and fun colors, but sadly I am too short for these maxi skirts.
