Founded 1996 based in Massachusetts, the SPINNERS were the Class-A farm team of the Boston Red Sox from until 2020. They were named after the city's textile mill history. In the early 1800's Lowell rose to prominence as the cradle of the Industrial Revolution. The foundation of the thriving city was water-powered textile mills, which took raw cotton and would "SPIN" it into yarn or cloth.
