Oh so Lovely vintage special event dress. In cream tone net with vertical embroidered trailing vine design for both the bodice and for 14" at the border of the overskirt. The deep 6 3/4" plunge of the U-shape neckline is scalloped embroidered net. The back is U-shaped with a 9" plunge from the nape. Below the waist is a 5" panel or girdle of very thin, lightweight fabric best described as tissue. The full skirt descends from it. The 6 1/2" short sleeves are trimmed in a muted light blue velvet & decorated with millinery style sprig of flowers. The back closes with 11 hook/eyes on a 17" panel. The underskirt is also in tissue and it is detailed with a scallop edge decorated with ruffle. We are having some difficulty dating this. Given the hook/eye closure, the ruffled underskirt and the use of "tissue" fabric, this could be as early as the mid 1920's. Please note that the bodice is sheer. Perhaps at one time it had a liner, but unless one is exceptionally adventurous, this will need a camisole. No maker label. We think this would serve well as a vintage wedding dress or any warm weather special event Size: no size label--the following measurements are approximate and taken lying flat and doubled. Bust- 19 1/2" pit to pit; 26" waist; 34" hip at bottom of panel; 50" long. Condition: hand laundered and air dried. No maker or size label. #4145b All fashions are rolled for shipping
